Over 25 years ago, Varun started his career in consulting, helping clients leverage the internet to amplify customer engagement, in industries ranging from fast-moving consumer goods to media, retail, banking, and telecom. He spent a number of years running a telco subsidiary, building MVPs, prosecuting patents, and commercializing technologies.
Varun then went out on his own, co-founding an innovative SaaS startup. A predecessor to IoT, the platform attained significant distribution through global market leaders and received the Broadband World Forum Award. After returning to the corporate world, Varun was a necessary catalyst for turning around a $200M P&L business, skillfully aligning functions and growing revenue, before holding various positions in general management, business development, and channels and partnerships.
Varun is an insatiably curious, continuous learner and a self-described geek, who became certified as an AWS Solutions Architect simply out of a personal interest to develop a greater understanding of cloud computing. He holds a BS in statistics and MBA from Bombay University, as well as an advanced certificate in management, innovation, and technology from MIT.
