As a CX Designer / Researcher, Laura works with client teams to identify and internalize best practices for effective user research.

She is passionate about leading with empathy to uncover user pains, which stems from her background at the University of California, Los Angeles Department of Psychology. There, she led a team of student researchers investigating the effect of electrical stimulation on memory encoding. She has always been fascinated by human-computer interaction and how startups can leverage emerging technologies to build more meaningful products and experiences for their customers.

Prior to joining Mach49, Laura worked as a UX Strategist and Designer at Bryt Designs — a web agency startup. While there, she contributed to 10+ projects with diverse clients, from private law firms to ecommerce and niche market tech startups. She approached each project at the intersection of creativity and strategy, using market and generative research methods to validate design decisions in order to give clients a competitive edge.

In addition to her BA in psychology — with a specialization in computing — from the University of California, Los Angeles, Laura is currently pursuing an MS in integrated design, business, and technology at the University of Southern California. In this program, she collaborates on cross-disciplinary teams to conceive and develop solutions to complex design, business, and technology challenges.
