Over the course of his 35-year career, Lee has founded, built, seeded, and advised over 1,700 entities while incubating more than 200 hedge fund, venture capital, and asset managers representing over $34B in assets. 

He founded Hedge Fund Services (HFS), where he launched an initiative to provide the entire infrastructure — including office space, back-office support, outsourced trading, capital introductions, research, compliance, legal, accounting, facilities management, and advisory support — to money managers and private equity firms across the US. Several of the country’s largest and most recognized firms in the space credit HFS as a contributing factor to their success. 

In his 19-year tenure at HFS, Lee helped incubate cutting-edge business ventures across dozens of sectors, including technology, financial services, environmental commodities, healthcare, retail, entertainment, and sustainability. 

Lee is also deeply devoted to impact investing, targeting investments in projects that bolster gender equality while limiting the effects of global climate change. He helped create a first-of-its-kind global financial tool and The W+ Standard™ to facilitate mainstream gender financing, while measuring and monetizing the co-benefits of climate change mitigation and gender equality related to time, income / assets, health, leadership, education, and food security. This financial innovation received the UN Climate Change Secretariat’s 2016 award for innovation and scalability. 

Lee studied economics and business at the University of California, Irvine and the University of California, Los Angeles.
