Tyler is a tenaciously optimistic marketer turned venture builder, who has devoted his career to tackling ambiguous business opportunities by championing customer-centric insights, catalyzing innovative product design, and leading talented teams to solve acute customer pains.
True to his background, leveraging emerging technology is at the heart of Tyler’s venture-building methodology. After starting out in Silicon Valley with Apple’s iTunes, he had a highly successful 7-year tenure at Google. There, he led multidisciplinary teams in incubating and launching new retail brand experiences, leveraging existing Google products. He discovered a passion for intrapreneurship and taking concepts from 0 to 1, and developed a few superpowers along the way, including crystallizing big-picture ideas into easily digestible concepts and maintaining team momentum throughout complex, challenging projects.
Tyler holds a BS in business administration — with a minor in music — from the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. He also completed an Executive Education program in marketing at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and is a certified Forrester CX Champion. When he’s not at Mach49, you’ll find Tyler traveling, cooking, or playing music.
