    No — our focus is on helping our clients design, launch, and manage their own high-performing funds rather than investing ourselves.

  • Are Mach49 employees GPs (general partners) of the CVC funds?

    No, not typically. We serve as advisors to each corporate fund rather than managing capital directly on behalf of our clients. In that role, we help clients build the capacity to run top-tier venture funds over time rather than having to depend on us for the long-term.

  • Does Mach49 just work with clients on venture capital investing?

    No! We work with clients to define full build / buy / partner / invest strategies to drive growth. We regularly work on strategic partnerships, venture acquisitions, and the full range of options available to clients as they engage with the startup ecosystem.

  • Is there a minimum CVC size for me to work with Mach49?

    No - we do not believe there is a minimum fund size or commitment required to create impact. From working with <$10M CVC budgets to >$250M fund commitments, we believe in enabling the advancement of successful and sustainable CVCs across all sectors and geographies.

  • Do you only work with new or emerging CVCs?

    No - we have worked with many established and mature CVCs as well, many of whom are looking to uplevel or expand a specific part of their operations. From designing new compensation structures to supporting on getting approval for new fund strategies, we are proud to leverage our expertise in whatever way is most valuable to our clients.

Operations and Location

  • Do you deliver the work remotely or in person?

    Typically hybrid, meeting in person early on and as needed throughout (for venture building), and otherwise executing virtually. Should be similar for venture investing, with the bulk of that work happening virtually.

  • Where are your teams located?

    We have a global presence with teams spread across a variety of strategic locations. This includes Silicon Valley, Boston, New York, London, Amsterdam, and Singapore.

  • How are you different from BCG, Accenture, and McKinsey?

    Our team is composed of operators with deep experience in both venture building and venture investing. We're 100% focused on execution — not Powerpoint decks filled with recommendations from consultants.


    We're on the ground with our clients, rolling up our sleeves to build / buy / partner / invest as co-founders and partners in our clients' success, while simultaneously building their capabilities so they can continue this work independently and with confidence. We work ourselves out of a job, teaching clients how to fish.
