Bill Kingsley has over 25 years of experience as a successful venture capital investor, corporate venture investor, board member, entrepreneur and business confidant across several industries, spanning diverse business models and stages of investment.
Prior to his 18 years as a General Partner at EnerTech Capital, a specialized venture capital fund investing in early/growth stage energy technology related companies, Bill was an executive at Comcast Corporation, creating/leading several disruptive new ventures prior to formation of its corporate venture capital unit.
Comcast’s investment in Teleport local joint ventures strategically created the fiber optic network foundation for Comcast’s broadband and digital television businesses while generating a $2 billion equity return in a little over five years. Bill also helped stand up the business now known as Sprint (wireless), as the new venture was being incubated and founded, generating another $3.5 billion return for Comcast over a five-year period.
Bill developed deep knowledge and experience as a board director, becoming trusted advisor to many leadership teams. Bill’s co-investor network spanned Silicon Valley, Israel, Europe and broadly across North America. Among 27 investments managed, 3 companies listed on Nasdaq, numerous strategic M&A transactions.
Prior to venture investing, Bill was an operating executive in several high growth businesses, running new business/product development, sales and product management in the early days of the wireless industry.
Bill has an M.A. from George Washington University and a B.S. from the University of Lynchburg.
