Chris is a seasoned entrepreneur, with a mastery of navigating the hurdles of corporate innovation and a foothold in every branch of Europe’s startup ecosystem. A co-founder, Board member, incubator, accelerator, and advisor of countless startups, Chris’ influential career is a testament to his belief that even the most established corporations can engage in disruptive growth to reach new heights.

Before joining Mach49, Chris made waves in Europe as Co-Founder of Reflex Aerospace, the continent’s first venture-backed satellite manufacturer. He also co-founded a hardtech startup, a virtual reality startup acquired by booking.com, and Skyroads — an open digital operations platform for the urban air mobility market. Chris’ drive for creating disruptive growth only continued to build as the Managing Director of Wayra Germany — Telefónica’s CVC arm — where he oversaw the selection of and investment in startups to be integrated into Telefónica’s portfolio.

But the game-changer in Chris' career was his time at Airbus. As the Head of Airbus Scale, the company's central innovation unit, Chris juggled venture building, corporate venture capital, and partnerships to ultimately spin-out 26 powerful new ventures from the research-heavy company — a passion he joined Mach49 to continue to pursue.

Born in Brazil and raised in Mexico, Chris' diverse cultural background and international education have certainly shaped his global outlook on business. With degrees from the Leopold-Franzens University in Innsbruck, the University of New Orleans, and the University of Barcelona, Chris embodies resilience, adaptability, and a tireless pursuit of innovation.

Amidst the incredibly fast-paced world of startups, Chris stays centered through his love of his family and the outdoors. After work, you can find him at the beach teaching his two young daughters to surf, or enjoying a game of chess. As a firm advocate for sustainable living, he’s also always thinking up ways to make his home greener in his spare time.
