Huggy Rao is the Atholl McBean Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. He is also Director of the Managing Talent for Strategic Advantage Executive Program, Co-Director of the Customer-Focused Innovation Executive Program, and Academic Director of the Stanford Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate Program.

His research — and by implication his teaching — centers around scaling up mobilization, innovation, and talent in organizations. “Scaling Up Excellence,” Huggy’s most recent book co-authored with Bob Sutton of Stanford’s School of Engineering, is a Wall Street Journal Bestseller and was named one of the best business books to read in 2014 by Forbes, the Financial Times, Amazon, and the Washington Post.

Over the course of his illustrious career, Huggy has consulted with and conducted executive workshops for organizations including Aon Corporation, British Petroleum, CEMEX, General Electric, Hearst Corporation, IBM, and Mass Mutual. He has also worked with nonprofit organizations like the American Cancer Society, government organizations like the FBI and CIA, and the intelligence community.

Huggy holds a PhD from Case Western Reserve University, a post-graduate diploma in personnel management and industrial relations from XLRI in India, and a BA from Andhra University in India.
