Joe is a new venture definition and validation expert with a user-centered mentality and 20 years of startup, consulting, and operating experience. He is deeply embedded in the emerging innovation ecosystem, advising incubator programs and corporate venture teams in the development of growth opportunities around the world.

In addition to having mentored several hundred startup teams, Joe has founded and led new ventures both inside and outside of corporate Motherships. He was the Advisory Lead for Ernst & Young’s Global Innovation team, Lead Product and Design Mentor at Google for Startups, a Consulting User Strategist for IBM’s Marketing Innovation Group, and the senior leader of Acquity Group — a creative agency that reached an IPO in 2012 and was later acquired by Accenture Interactive.

Joe is recognized as an authority in his field. He has been cited as a mobile industry and user-centered design expert in research published by Forrester, Internet Retailer, and other publications, and his work has earned a #1 Apple App Store rank in addition to awards from Webby, AdAge Media Vanguard, and more.

He holds a BS in computer science from Northwestern University and a certificate in project management. from the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
