Michele Chambliss
GCC Program Execution and Operating Partner, Growth Institute
With over 20 years in Silicon Valley, Michele has split her time between operating roles at Fortune 100 companies, strategic advisory positions at firms of all sizes—including venture-backed startups—and hands-on work in venture building and education. Her career spans leadership roles at corporate giants like Oracle and Symantec, strategic consulting at Sand Hill Road-based Strategic Decisions Group and global consultancy Capgemini, and advising portfolio companies for Greylock Venture Partners.
While a Principal at Capgemini, Michele led the firm’s first Silicon Valley presence in the launch of the TeleMedia Lab, where she forged software alliances for the telecom sector. This entrepreneurial experience led her to Yipes Communications, a Series B startup that raised $300M in VC funding. As part of the leadership team, Michele helped scale Yipes into a leading communications provider for major financial exchanges before its acquisition by Reliance Communications. Later, she played a key role in acquiring the first customers for venture-backed Data Domain, which went public and was later acquired by EMC Corporation for $2.1B.
Michele has spent the past six years at Mach49, where she has made significant contributions to both client delivery and education. As Principal Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR), she has led venture-building engagements across industries including retirement planning, mining, construction, travel, pet care, and high-tech. She has worked with clients such as Prudential, Stanley Black & Decker, Shell, Schneider Electric, and Employbridge in regions including the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia. In addition to her work as an EIR, Michele was instrumental in creating and launching the Mach49 Playbook, a platform featuring over 200 short-form videos to educate client teams on Mach49’s venture-building methodology. As Operating Partner at Mach49’s Growth Institute, she designs and delivers Masterclass training programs to help corporate teams innovate and build new ventures.
Michele holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She also serves as a career coach and advisor to current Harvard Business School students and alumni, particularly those pursuing entrepreneurship.
Her experience combines operational leadership in large corporations with a deep passion for entrepreneurship, enabling her to bridge the gap between established businesses and the dynamic, innovative spirit required for venture success.
