Shane is a visionary brand strategist with an accomplished career in the marketing and branding spaces. As Mach49’s Chief Brand Officer, he leads with deep expertise to shape the firm’s positioning in the marketplace. 

As a young student with a knack for storytelling, Shane walked away from journalism school in order to start a new company — even convincing a professor to join him. His mission: to change the way the world communicates. Through this leap into the unknown, he discovered that doing something big and bold is always better with a co-conspirator, and that nothing is truly impossible. 

Before joining Mach49, Shane co-founded Razorfish, one of the first and biggest digital professional services firms. He also held leadership roles at esteemed agencies including AKQA, Organic, and EVB. His extensive portfolio includes work with McKinsey & Company, dozens of global enterprises, most of Silicon Valley’s tech giants, and countless startups.

Shane is an audacious creator at heart. He continues to push the envelope at Mach49, working closely with leadership and the Marketing team to reshape the firm’s brand strategy and strengthen its stance in the market. 

After 30 years in the Bay Area, Shane and his wife recently moved to the desert in Phoenix, AZ. In addition to his work at Mach49, he continues to work as a commercial artist, serve on the board of the ASU Art Museum and Fashion Program, and advises early stage companies. To Shane, the very act of creation nourishes his soul, keeps his ego in check, and helps him put his genuine self out into the world. He remains completely devoted to his love for creativity, reflected in his personal motto: “Create something every day. Even if it sucks.”
