Kamal brings over 28 years of experience as a successful venture capital investor, CVC design and operation expert, Board member, angel investor, and entrepreneur to his role as Board Member-in-Residence. He’s a daring maverick, always looking for untapped opportunities with the potential to disrupt stagnant businesses and markets.

He co-founded 3 tech startups before taking an executive position at innovation consulting firm, Breakthrough Management Group International. There, he established comprehensive expertise in business development and corporate innovation strategy while designing new innovation models for large utility companies, hospital systems, pharmaceutical companies, and multinational manufacturing conglomerates in the US, China, Europe, and the Middle East.

Kamal then started his own venture capital firm — TURN8 — to guide global corporations in designing and implementing corporate venturing models. The group has managed $500M+ in enterprise value from 3 CVC funds, built 5 corporate accelerators and 3 venture studios, and accelerated over 120 global ventures. He also founded The Cribb to cultivate the innovation ecosystem in Dubai by linking entrepreneurs to corporate buyers and venture capital investors.

He holds a BS and MS from San Francisco State University and is a graduate of Executive Education Programs at both the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and Harvard Business School. ‍
