He then pursued postdoctoral research in modern control theory at the University of Bath, UK. Stephen is currently enrolled in a second PhD at Cass Business School in London, investigating how business models can be used to deal with complexity and uncertainty while improving outcomes for stakeholders. He currently holds governance appointments in the UK and New Zealand and advises on venture incubation globally.
