Marvin D. Scaff is a software entrepreneur and technologist. In his 35+ years of experience, Marvin has served as a Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Technology Officer. He has shipped multiple 1.0 products and played a significant role in many successful companies.
Marvin is President of Liquidity Engine, a technology consulting firm in Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida. Prior to this, Marvin was a co-founder and CTO of abeama, a developer of wireless marketing automation tools as well as co-founded and served as Chief Technology Officer of BrainBuzz.com, a vertical portal for information technology professionals.
He also founded and served as CEO of Kinetoscope, Inc., one of the nation’s pioneers in Java based software development serving clients such as General Motors International, US West, and Visa International. In addition, Marvin served as Director of Engineering for Hands-On Technology (HOT), a publisher of business multimedia applications founded by Regis McKenna. Marvin was the Director of Development for Image Technologies, a multimedia development company located in St. Petersburg, Florida and as the Director of Engineering at Teknosys, he designed the rule-based expert system used in solving system configuration problems for Help! and Help! Network products.
A published author, Marvin co-wrote the book “The Human Side of Intranets,” and has written numerous articles for industry publications as well as co-authored a patent granted in the area of enterprise knowledge portals. Marvin is a member of the editorial board of “Journal of Knowledge and Innovation,“ published by the Knowledge Management Consortium.
He studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Kentucky in Lexington; and later with the Semantic Computing Summer Program at the University of California, Berkley; as well as the Lean Launchpad Entrepreneur Educators Program at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.
