Melissa evangelizes design thinking strategies, interweaving creative and analytical lenses to uncover meaningful insights and deliver data-informed, user-centric designs that transform people, products, and experiences. Leveraging 5 years of experience as both a researcher and as a counselor in the community mental health and social services sector, Melissa blends deep, empathetic listening with relentless curiosity and systematic thinking to dig deep for customer pain and uncover meaningful, actionable insights. 

As a Research Associate at Covision, Inc. and Glass, Lewis & Co., Melissa executed comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analyses of market trends, financial reports, and potential competitors. Later, she joined healthcare startup Pandia Health and financial wellness startup Aura Finance as a UX Designer and Researcher. She worked closely with the founders of each business as she led stakeholder interviewing, persona building, wireframing, and usability testing. 

Melissa holds a BA in psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and completed General Assembly’s UX Design Immersive.
