A Bay Area native, Mercedes has worked across countless industries — in companies of all sizes — to develop unique user experiences and effective content strategies and branding techniques.

After beginning her career in marketing, Mercedes was drawn to UX design as a more holistic way to explore customer needs and desires, at the intersection of art and science. Since joining Mach49, she has consulted teams from prominent tech startups and Fortune 1000 companies. Applying her expertise in design thinking and information architecture, Mercedes has brought their products to life through customer development, rapid prototyping, usability testing, and design iteration. She now oversees creative direction and UX for Shift AI — Mach49’s new digital platform for venture building and investing.

Mercedes earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Santa Clara University and completed General Assembly’s User Experience Design Immersive in San Francisco.
